Jose Noriega-Prieto
Jose studied Pharmacy at the Universidad de Salamanca (USAL) in Spain, where he also earned a master’s degree in neuroscience from the Institute of Neuroscience of Castilla y León (INCYL). He conducted his dissertation research at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM), under the supervision of Dr. David Fernández de Sevilla. Following this, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Minnesota (UMN) in the USA, where he studied the properties of endocannabinoid-mediated neuron-glia interactions and their role in synaptic physiology. In 2024, he joined Dr. Jonathan Fadok’s lab at Tulane University to investigate the neurological mechanisms of fear memory and affective disorders, which are processes related to posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Outside of the lab, Jose enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, reading, and cooking.
