Maria earned her B.S. in Psychological and Brain Sciences with a minor in Arabic Studies from The George Washington University in December 2022. She spent over a year working with the Society for Neuroscience before beginning her Ph.D. in Neuroscience at Tulane University. Maria is a member of both the Tasker and Fadok labs, where she is interested in identifying neuron-specific populations underlying PTSD symptoms. Outside of the lab, Maria enjoys cuddling with her kittens, trying new foods, playing Zelda on the Switch, napping in her hammock, weightlifting, and practicing yoga.
